Open postdoctoral position for a researcher with expertise in robotics and rehabilitation robotics in the Neural Rehabilitation Group of Cajal Institute. The post-doctoral candidate will be supporting research activities in human-robot interaction through design of mechatronic/robotic systems, intelligent orthotics, and control of actuators for wearable robots.Â
Successful candidates for this position should have these qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or robotics related fields.
• The candidate will be working mostly on multi-institutional collaborations. The ideal candidate is therefore expected to possess strong collaborative work ethic and excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new research areas and to participate in development of new research projects.
Additional desirable attributes:
• Background in fundamental investigations on dynamical systems and control including modeling, simulation, optimization and design of electro-mechanical systems.
• A strong background in robot modeling and control.
• Experience in design, manufacturing, and control of pneumatic/hydraulic actuators and system integration.
• Background in finite element modeling and optimization formulations for mechanism design.
• Ability to troubleshoot/repair/maintain a wide range of mechanical systems.
• Ability to work with a team of graduate students to achieve research goals.
